Course Instructors

Dr. Kingsly Ambrose
Dr. Kingsly Ambrose currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at Purdue University. His specialization area is in Agriculture Safety and Health and Food Process Engineering. His most recent research areas center around designer particulate products, milling and grain processing, modeling and simulation, and materials handling. Dr. Ambrose possesses a M.S. in Agricultural Processing from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University.

Mr. Cory Downing
Cory Downing is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Vortex Valves. He has 19 years of diverse business experience in corporate, design, plant and manufacturing roles. Mr. Downing received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Engineering/Industrial Management, both from Kansas State University.

Mr. Jason Krbec
Jason Krbec serves as Engineering Manager at CV Technology in Jupiter, Florida. CV Technology specializes in complete explosion and fire protection solutions for the prevention and mitigation of explosions and fire hazards that result from the manufacturing and handling of dry bulk materials. Mr. Krbec holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida.

Dr. Johnselvakumar Lawrence
Dr. Johnselvakumar Lawrence currently holds the position of Research Director with the Bulk Solids Innovation Center. He formerly served as the lead researcher and director at IntelliFarms. He holds a M.S. in Agricultural Processing from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University.

Mr. Pat Mahoney
Pat Mahoney currently holds the position of Global Systems Manager at Coperion K-Tron. He has a combined 22 years of experience in systems engineering and sales. He possesses a B.S. in Milling Science and Management from Kansas State University.

Dr. Greg Mehos
Dr. Mehos is an experienced engineer with expertise in storage, handling, processing, and dispersing particulate solids. His recent work includes serving as senior project engineer at Jenike & Johanson and as an adjunct instructor at University of Rhode Island. Dr. Mehos's PhD is in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Mr. Steve Reed
Steve Reed, Director of Engineering at Kasa Industrial Controls, has been with Kasa for more than 20 years. Steve is responsible for hiring and training engineers, as well as being instrumental in Kasa's involvement in grain handling. Mr. Reed obtained his B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from Kansas State University.

Mr. Todd Smith
Todd Smith is General Manager of Coperion K-Tron Salina and Vice President of the company's Global Systems group, selling and manufacturing bulk material conveying systems around the world. He graduated in Engineering from Kansas State University in 1981 and received an MBA in 1998.

Mr. Mike Stratis
Mike Stratis has worked in the manufacturing industry since 2007. He started in the tool and die world but moved into dry bulk material handling space with Cleveland Vibrator in 2013. He received his MBA in Business Administration from Cleveland State University in 2013. He lives in the Cleveland, Ohio area with his wife and one year old daughter. The growing family also includes a dog and a cat. When Mike is not thinking about vibration, albeit a rare occurrence, he spends time watching (sometimes crying) Cleveland sports teams and three putting on the golf course.
