Storage and Flow of Bulk Solids

Register

Many plants have issues with their bins and silos – erratic flow, stagnant material, and segregation to name a few. This course addresses how to prevent those problems and how to address them if they occur.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The course will cover a combination of design, theory, and hands-on application. Upon completing the course, students will understand:

  • Material properties that affect flow and storage
  • How to design the geometry of a bin or silo
  • Design of chutes and feeders
  • Specifying and selection of silos, flow aids, feeders, and level measurement
  • Segregation and caking issues

This course is recommended for engineers, technicians, and management personnel who design, maintain, or need to improve their bulk solid handling process.

Course instructors are leaders in the bulk solids industry and research experts from Kansas State University. View a full list of instructors
